My mom has grapefruit, orange and lemon trees in her backyard and they pretty much overflow. I can always find use for the oranges and lemons but I've never really liked grapefruit. She sneaks one in to the batch every once in a while. I think it's wishful thinking. Since I don't like letting things go to waste, I scoured for ways to make grapefruit that I would like. I decided to try this over roasted grapefruit idea. I'm glad I did. This comes out so great. It's warm, sweet and just a little tart.
Here's what you'll need:
- 1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon Powder
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
- Half your grapefruit
- Put one tablespoon of honey on each half
- Top each half with half a teaspoon of cinnamon
- Bake for 15 minutes
It's a little tricky to get the honey onto the grapefruit. It wants to just slide right off. It's pretty fun to play with though, I finally just sandwiched the two sides together to smooth out the honey and cinnamon mixture.
Try these even if you aren't a grapefruit fan (I wasn't) because they are delicious and they'll make your house smell great.
