Like so many of us out there I'm coming to some harsh realities about the world we live in, and I'm not saying taking care of my hair will fix all of it, but slowing down taking a few deep breaths of acceptance never hurt anymore. Add that in with the desire to do better, be kinder, and take better care of myself, and be more available to those around me and what they might be going through. Those things might actually change the world. But I'm really going to have to fill myself up first. The second thing that's been racing through my mind is, how hard we work to stay where we are, to maintain the way of live we've gotten used to or convinced ourselves is normal. I think the recent turn of events has lent itself to this for better and for worse. On a more private level I've seen this so readily in myself. The way I feel about myself, my life, the way I live banging my head on the wall with a door wide open. All of these things have been coming out of the shadows recently. Painful as it may be, it's all widely necessarily. So is doing something kind for yourself.
So, I've written about castor oil before, and how it contains a special kind of acid that makes your hair (and eyelashes, and eyebrows) grow. Plus, all of the beauty bloggers are talking about it. Additionally this mix has some aloe vera in it, that not only helps to thin out the castor oil to make it more spreadable but also helps to exfoliate and moisturize your scalp.
- Mix all ingredients together
- Apply to scalp
- You can wrap it with plastic, to help your scalp warm up which typically makes these treatments more effective and less messy. I rarely do it, but I hear.
- Leave on for 2-3 hours
- Wash and condition as normal
