Fuller Hair Mask with Egg + Bentonite Clay

I haven't talked about Mercury Retrograde once since it started. Not on the blog, anyways. I did have a little tantrum-style meltdown towards the end of it, but I think there was something to be gained from it. There definitely was. We can all learn from our triggers, and going back or stalling out sometimes helps us see those things clearer. That's how I feel right about now, a bit clearer, and maybe a little embarrassed. These things happen.

So, onto bentonite clay hair masks. I'd actually never thought of this before, but when I was researching there are a lot of things this dirt can do for you hair. It's clarifying without drying hair out, can nourish your scalp with a long list of minerals, and it's quite a bit kinder than other hair detox methods. Some say it can even handle frizz. I don't have very frizzy hair. I have hair that tangles, but not really the frizz factor. So, I couldn't advise on whether it helps or not.

I mixed mine up with lemons which are also clarifying, but can be a bit drying—then some eggs too, because there's really nothing better for fuller hair, than egg yolk.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of bentonite clay
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk - I had a yolk left over from this mask

Directions:

  • Whip up all ingredients and apply them to wet hair. Let it set for 30 minutes. Some folks leave it on overnight with a shower cap.
  • Rinse well and shampoo.
