Growing green onions is definitely the world's easiest gardening project. All you need is water, a jar, and some kitchen scraps. Then they'll grow super fast. Endless supply of green onions, here I come. I'm really excited to have these around constantly because of their milder onion flavor, they're easy to add to everything savory.
These had been sitting in a bowl of water for three days. They're kind of curved because of the shape of the bowl.
Here's what you'll need:
- a small jar
- green onion scraps
- Fill your jar with water. As you can see my jar is pretty deep, but the onions sort of float to the top. So, you don't really need to worry about the depth of your jar.
- Add in green onion scraps.
- Change water every 2-3 days.
This is what mine looked like after six days.
